Are You Maximizing The Fitness Benefits Of Exercising?
This is a typical picture of the aerobics machines section of a fitness club. Many people use these machines for hours at a time because they believe they are achieving the benefits of exercising.
The truth is - there are results - but they usually no where near what can be achieved with MUCH LESS TIME AND EFFORT.
But hey - I'm a writer - what do I know about maximizing the fitness benefits of exercise? Well, I did read an article entitled Personal Trainer Says: Most People are Wasting Their Time Working Out.
According to the personal trainer in this article, one of the biggest mistakes people make when exercising is using the least effective type of regular cardio. And that would be doing aerobics machine workouts that do NOT take advantage of the latest research. It suggests that you can perform a SHORTER workout at greater intensity, and get BETTER results than the usual, time-consuming workout routines.
An hour 3 times a week on an elliptical machine talking on the phone to your BFF will NOT deliver the results you expect.
So get SMART - try Dr. Mercola's Peak 8 exercises as described in the article mentioned above. It won't cost a penny. You have nothing to lose - the workouts will last about 20 minutes 1-3 times a week. And the benefits of exercising using this method are well documented.
Note that If you have a history of heart disease or other health concerns, you should get clearance from your health care professional before starting a Peak 8 exercise session.
